Admissions Process

We welcome you to come by and visit our program. If you call 785-864-2660 or email us at indigenous@ku.edu that you are coming, we can arrange for you to meet with students and a faculty member.

To apply to the Master's Global Indigenous Nations Studies Program, you will need to:

1. Complete an Application Form (Online is preferred) and pay the required application fee. To fill out the Online Application Form, go to the Research & Graduate Studies instruction page. See our Online Application Instructions page for more information. For a paper application, please click here.
2. Send a sample of your academic writing, a 2-3 page Personal Statement, and your Resume or Vita to the Global Indigenous Nations Studies office.
3. Ensure that institutions and individuals have sent the following to the Global Indigenous Nations Studies office:
   • Official transcripts from all universities and colleges attended
   • Graduate Record Exam (GRE) scores
   • Three (3) letters of recommendation (PDF) from academic references and the required waiver form with each
