Welcome to the University of Kansas's Global Indigenous Nations Studies Program. Established in 1997, the Program offers an interdisciplinary Master of Arts degree which prepares students to continue on to doctoral study or to work in the fields of law and government, healthcare, cultural preservation as well as in Native communities and organizations. The Program offers a unique mix of challenging academics, internships, and graduate exchange program that prepare students for both real world situations and intensive graduate study.

The graduate students' group, Indigenous Nations Studies Students Association (INSSA) is an active part of our program and represents more than 39 Indian nations. They meet bi-weekly to plan study groups, socials, and fund raisers and ensure student representation on the Program’s executive, curriculum, and recruitment committees.
